The Department of Water Resources’ final report put the Sierra Nevada snow pack at a whopping 190 percent of normal—nearly twice the long-term average. This is good news for farmers and residents who’ll have plenty of water this summer, but makes for some unusual “summer 2017” vistas in Tahoe. Photographer Paul Hamill found people paddleboarding, hiking and cycling amid scenery that is decidedly snow-covered.
